Ramesh Dookhoo is a senior business executive and governance leader with decades of experience shaping Guyana’s private sector and national development agenda. He currently serves as Head of Business Development at Banks DIH Ltd., and sits on the Board of the Guyana Natural Resource Fund. He is also Chairman of Guyana Water Inc., and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund. A former Chairman of the Private Sector Commission, and Cheddi Jagan International Airport, he has also led the Guyana Manufacturers Association and the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce. His work reflects a deep commitment to trasparent economic stewardship and cross-sector develpment, bringing GEM both grounded local credibility and regional business understanding.
Dr. Mark Kirton is a distinguished Caribbean scholar and former senior academic at the University of Guyana and the University of the West Indies, where he served as director (ag.) of the Institute of International relations. With a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, he has spent over four decades teaching and researching diplomacy, Latin American politics and regional integration. He is the author and editor of multiple volumes on Caribbean international relations and was awarded Guyana’s Golden Arrow of Achievement for his contributions to higher education and regional cooperation. Dr. Kirton provides GEM with geopolitical depth and a long-view perspective on Caribbean develpment strategy.
Joycelyn Williams is a seasoned international development specialist and management consultant with over two decades of experience advising governments, NGO’s, and international agencies across the Caribbean. A graduate of the University of Cambridge (MPhil), she has led strategic planning, results-based management, and organizational reform initiatives for institutions including the IDB, CIDA, USAID, and the Canadian Jurist Project. As founder of the JTW Management Institute, she brings to GEM deep expertise in human capital development, economic inclusion, and institutional strengthening, anchoring the publication’s commitment to equitable growth and regional empowerment.
William O’Malley is a seasoned financial leader with over two decades of experience at the highest levels of global banking, energy, and corporate finance. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer of GT Wings, he brings a proven track record in driving growth, managing complex financial operations, and guiding strategic investments across dynamic international markets. Before joinging GT Wings, Will worked as an Energy Specialist in the freelance sector, where he provided strategic advisory on energy and resource projects. Prior to that, he spent more than 14 years at Barclays Investment Bank, rising to Managing Director, where he led large-scale financial transactions, structured capital solutions, and advised multinational corporations on investment strategies. He began his career in finance at RBS as an Associate Director, focusing on corporate and institutional clients. With deep expertise spanning corporate finance, investment banking, and energy market, Will offers unique insight into the intersection of finance and the global energy transition. His background equips him to engage with both policymakers and business leaders in shaping strategies that align financial innovation with sustainable energy development.
Kit Nascimento is a veteran communications strategist and former Cabinet Minister with over five decades of experience in media, public policy, and internaitonal advisory roles. He served as Minister of State under President Forbes Burnham and later advised successive governments on telecommunications reform, national branding, and crisis communications. As Manageing Director of Public Communicaitons Consultants Ltd., he has advised both public and private sector clients across the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. A recipient of Guyana’s Golden Arrow of Achievement, Kit has authored widely on media policy an development communicaiton, and brings to GEM a unique blend of political acuity, public messging expertise, and regional insight.
